Being One of Our Songwriters
The Whitefish Songwriter Festival is the place for songwriters to meet. No matter what your ability or status there is a place for you at our festival. We have classes for you to hone your songwriting skills from industry experts, a songwriting contest to see how your composition stacks up with others and opportunities to play for pay.
We hire two levels of songwriters for our festival. The talent for ticketed shows are hit songwriters, mostly from Nashville and tend to write for country music stars. The criteria to play on this stage is you have to have written one or more number one hit songs. Past performers include, Wynn Varble, Kostas, Tony Lane. Hugh Prestwood, Even Stevens among others.
Are you interested in being a Rising Star Songwriter at theWhitefish Songwriter Festival? Our Rising Stars are hired to play in the various pubs and restaurants in town. We host one of these shows on Thursday, Six of these shows on Friday and Six on Saturday. These are in a song swap format with two to three songwriters. Each show is an hour and fifteen minutes in length. You will more than likely play in a different venue with different songwriters each day. We pay our Rising Star Songwriters a set talent fee for performing shows on a combination of days, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We do not pay expenses. The fee is more reflective of the experiencing of playing at our festival and having fun.
